Its been a busy few weeks. We agreed in February to change our name to the Kennington and Walworth Neighbourhood Action Group – the KWNAG. This better represents our concerns across both the temporary shafts in Harmsworth Street and the permanent vent in the park, and the spread of our members throughout the area.
TfL have agreed to meet us and go through the findings of the consultation at the end of last year and the results of their studies into the alternative sites for the vent. This is our chance to get them to explain themselves once and for all.
The meeting is at St Agnes Church Hall, at 6.30pm
Please do come along and help us make TfL listen – this is a great opportunity for us to show them we are a strong community.
Love the above comment! Sadly I can’t come tomorrow owing to an unmissable rehearsal. I suppose I could send the dogs by themselves …. but probably better not! Am forwarding the details to as many interested parties that I can think of. Don’t let them fob you off and please let me know the outcome. Thanks, Celia.
Thanks Celia, we’ll report back
Lucy, I’m SO sorry. I’m at work and there is no way I can be there. Fingers crossed there is some kind of turnout.
My big fear is that Osborne is going to go all out to push this to the top of the agenda on Wednesday as a way of hiding all of his other economic inadequacies. It’s one of the few things he can actually promote as ‘big project’. Judging by the stuff that’s already been leaked to the press, he’s going to milk this big time. I wish there was a way of getting protesters outside Downing Street after the Budget is delivered to take advantage of all the press to press our case. TfL are merely doing the bidding of those higher up. They’re the puppets and someone else is pulling the strings. Karen
